New Faces of MAC Viva Glam!

Hello Dolls!

Well it is official that artists Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin are the new faces for the 2012 MAC VIVA GLAM Campaign. For years now I have always been a huge fan of the VIVA GLAM ads which are, visually stimulating and Oh So Glamorous! Nicki strikes a mean pose while Ricky adds the right amount of tattooed muscle to the scene. The ad was shot by renowned photographer David La Chapelle. Previous faces of the campaign include Lady Gaga, Cindy Lauper, Lil Kim, Mary J. Blige, Pamela Anderson, Eve and Dita Von Teese. Each ad was as inspirational as the previous.
Lets review a few past campaign photos...

Kudos to MAC Cosmetics for creating the VIVA GLAM Campaign which donates one-hundred percent of the sale price to help fight HIV/AIDS. According to the company, the fund has already raised $224 million since it launched in 1994.

Let's support the CAUSE! I will be purchasing the "Viva Glam Nicki" and the "Viva Glam Ricky"  lip colors the day they become available.

Star Style Trend "Ombre" Color

Chanel Iman rocking dark hair and light ends

Hello Dolls,

Today we will be discussing a hair trend that has been around forever, but has recently become popular among celebs. The look involves dark hair at the roots with color becoming gradually lighter toward the ends. This style is now called "Ombre" hair. Tons of models, singers and actresses have embraced this look.
My verdict is a definite "Love"! The lighter hair frames the lower part of the face and adds a glow to the skin.

Raven Symone "Dark Roots Light Ends"

Demi "Ombre" Hair

The great thing about this look is the low maintenance involved with keeping the roots touched-up. This allows for less visits to the salon and less damage to the hair. Wow what a win-win for trendy ladies everywhere-(not so much for the hair stylists). As seen above, the color looks lovely worn curly or straight.
If you are not the type to color your hair, try adding lighter EXTENSIONS to the back of your own hair to create the Ombre effect. You will add length and feel like a Star!

Ciao for now ;)

Hello Dolls,

It's officially confession time. I am guilty of withholding important information from all shoe shoppers. An earlier post featured the awesome " Studded  Star of the Show" black peep toe pump that was the highlight of my completed concert look. To the naked eye it appears that the designer could be Sam Edelman, who has some of the hottest shoe designs ever.
The truth of the matter is that the designer goes by the name Michael Shannon. The second I saw the shoe I knew it had to be mine. The Crystal encrusted heels cost me $99. The strikingly similar version by Sam Edelman was originally priced at $199.95. After some searching I saw the shoe priced from anywhere between $132 (http://www.shopstyle.com/)   and $149 (http://www.6pm.com/) at the least. Michael Shannon's design pleased me just fine and I couldn't argue with the price.
From what I can see, the main difference between the two are the soles of the shoe. Michael Shannon version has a black sole and it appears a little flatter toward the front. Sam Edelman has a light brown sole and it's slighter thicker in the front area. I could be wrong because the photos are similar. At any rate, there it is! I can sleep better at night knowing someone will be rocking a gorgeous pair of shoes and at a slightly lower price. I'm all about fabulous finds so I will keep everyone posted.

Ciao for now ;)
